The Veranda is one of Moonshine’s most versatile event spaces, offering an open-air setting overlooking the Waterloo Greenway and The Confluence, providing a quieter, more relaxed side of Downtown Austin. Designed for year-round comfort, the space features retractable electronic side walls, built-in heaters, and cooling misters for warmer months while preserving the fresh outdoor atmosphere. A distinctive bourbon barrel-inspired roof was thoughtfully constructed around a mature historic pecan tree, blending contemporary design with the natural character of the property. Equally well suited for seated dinners, cocktail receptions, and social gatherings, the Veranda offers a uniquely Austin backdrop that seamlessly combines comfort, flexibility, and historic charm.

The Veranda is a covered, open-air dining space, designed to be enjoyed year-round. The space can remain open to the fresh air or be enclosed as needed, with heating and cooling fans providing comfort through every season. Ideal for rehearsal dinners, corporate gatherings, cocktail receptions, and family celebrations, the Veranda combines the charm of Moonshine’s historic setting with the flexibility to accommodate a wide range of private events. Entrance to the Veranda is accessible through the restaurant or directly from 3rd Street. Please note there is not a dedicated bar in this area; staff will provide cocktail service directly to guests.
